As long as you run straight forward you will be OK, don't try tennis, jumping or any type of exercise that involves sideways movements. What worked for me was the stationary bicycle.
I also torn my ACL and I waited 8 years before having my knee repaired, I'm perfect now!
Good luck!

If you doctor say so you should be ok. The ACL tear is already torn so it won't get worse. What could get worse is the meniscus tear. Riding a bike or stationary bike would be a safer bet for the meniscus tear.

Should be okay. Just pay attention to it. The slightest of pain could me big problems. As a precaution, you can try ice afterward just to keep any swelling down.

What did your doctor (or physical therapist) say? Go by what they say. Ask them to give you a exercise program that will help you to avoid further damage.
