I need to buy a treadmill for my home. I want a folding model that I can run on for about an hour everyday. I want something that is not cheap quality but is not too too expensive. I also need one that is not too loud because I have a downstairs neighbor. Do you have a home treadmill that you love and can recommend? Where did you buy your treadmill? I have looked in Dick’s Sporting Goods, Sears and Sports Authority but the treadmills they sell do not seem to be good quality.

How about running in the park?? Cheaper & healthier.
I agree. Running in the park is the best because your getting all the fresh air and it’s really good for your lungs… And it builds the legs up going up hill. Plus if you where to run anywhere do it on the grass and if you where to run on a tredmill or the road/footpath your just going to get knee injerys like me so stick to a park on the grass.. You can run on hard ground if you want but not too long or you will damage your joints.
Running outside is great when you have a good location or the weather is nice, but treadmills do have their place. Star Trac makes some really great ones. They have a ton of programmable features, and help you work your endurance safely. The best price I have seen for them is at They are a little pricey, but it is better and safer to get good equipment than risk injury or have to keep replacing shoddy stuff.
None. treadmills are proven to shorten your stride. Try the courses and parks. Cheaper and room to stretch out.
