I run on my treadmill every day for 15-45 mins. Some days I do long jogs, and other days i do fast shorter runs. I run 2-5 miles a day usually at around 7.5 MPH. I was wondering, will this running make me faster, or will it simply make me more cardio vascularly endurant?

It’s not really going to make you faster, just build up your cardio. One thing that I’ve always done is sprints. This will give you more speed. Try ladders too, this will help a lot too.

How can you stand running on a treadmill? I always have a hard time when I can’t run outside. First of all, do you increase the incline on your treadmill? If you don’t, you are not really going to improve anything. Make sure your incline is at least 1.0. Running on a treadmill is sooo different from pavement or track so make sure you get outside. Do sprints around the track or from pole to pole. At least that will prepare your body for the real race.

Nope, only running faster makes you faster.

Generally, a treadmill doesn’t work your body exactly the same way running outside does. So whatever great numbers you get inside don’t expect them to be the same outside.

It would really help to know what your goal is. If it is speed, then you need to plan your training days better to insure you incorporate longer easier runs, tempo runs, and intervals. YOU NEED A PLAN.

    Good Luck
