		<description>if you can lift the side of the belt 3-4 inches, it&#039;s not too tight.

I would try lubricating and cleaning the belt too, it will prevent it from heating up and expanding.  I&#039;m not there so I can&#039;t inspect it, but sometimes you need a new walking belt.
