you shoult start slowly at first. nobody who has been sedentary for a long time can do 20 min right off the bat. You should start with 5 min and increase it as it gets easier. I do not think you have a medical problem, i simply think you are overworking yourself. A very important thing before any exercise is to have a meal 3 hours before and consume water as you do it, to keep your muscles and cells hydrated. This will most probably fix your dizziness problem. If it does not, do go see your doctor.

as for motivation, tell yourself you can do it, just how **** you will be after a few months, put a tv in front of it, makes time fly by faster, or read a magazine as you use it. otherwise you are right, it's extremly boring hehe

good luck

When I get off the treadmill, I feel like I am literally floating, like my legs are not actually moving. Like I am gliding through the air. Maybe your dizziness is just your reaction. If I do ring-around-the-rosies with my daughters, I get super dizzy. But there is no harm done to me. It is just our equalibrium.

I agree with the others....I think its hard to be motivated to do something when it makes you feel bad. Its also good to eat something light (like a banana) before you exercise.

3.6 mph might be too fast of a pace for you if you're a beginner. Why not start slower? Listening to music or watching tv while you walk/jog/run motivates me.

Maybe you should talk to your physician to find out why you are dizzy. I don't think walking on a treadmill should make you feel that way.

Put it in front of the TVor read while your doing it. Remember that once you get started its much easier to continue. It's not a good sign that you feel dizzy after exercise. I highly recommend you talk to your doctor about that because it's NOT normal.
