that's a quick way to ruin your feet. unless you've been running barefoot since birth, you don't have the foot strength to go without shoes.

No.

I am a treadmill runner.

Running on any surface without a proper shoe will increase your chance of injury. Running shoes will help cushion your feet (thus better for your heels and prevent plantar fasciitis), decrease the friction (therefore less likelihood of blisters and calluses), support your arch (thus no fallen arch), and shock absorb (so you will protect your ankles, knees, and hips).

Please be sure to wear decent running shoes and change them every 300-500 miles. Shoes are not something you want to save money from.

Try in your bare feet. Running without shoes teaches better running form. It should be smaller steps and a fast turnover using the balls of your feet and less of the heel.

Your socks will tend to move a little on the treadmill and over time you may develop calluses that could bother you. Wearing shoes adds to the workout by giving your legs a little more strength due to their added weight.

Its not ideal but not too bad, with a treadmill the surface itself provides cushioning, which a road etc. doesn't; so you don't require cushioning like you would while running normally.

running shoes offer you support and cushioning that socks will not, your feet will eventually begin to hurt, causing it hard to run at all.

Heavens, NO!! Don't destroy your feet like that! It might lead to complications later in life. Always run with comfortable, well-cushioned shoes.
