I heard that it’s possible you can do fartlek’s on the treadmill?
If so, what are the speeds for the sprinting and resting periods.
Also, how much time should I do this for?
I’m pretty sure a fartlek is where you sprint for 100m then rest for 100m?
Correct me if I’m wrong…

whats a fartlek?
depends on your current fitness. You should have two speeds. Find one speed that is reasonably quick (about 75% of your maximum speed). And another speed that is relatively easy for you to run at (a slow jog). This is what you should do.
3 mins fast – then 1 min slow
2 mins fast – then 1 min slow
1 min fast – then 1 min slow
The above constitutes one set. Do at least three sets with 1 minute rest between each set. (you can do more than three if you feel comfortable doing so)
Fartlek need not be 100m it can be any distance. The idea is you do short fast runs followed by short slow runs.
