It’s called shin splints, I deal with it to. Very uncomfortable!
Your muscles have tighten from your work out and you should stretch before getting on the treadmill.
sorry my post was inaccurate – removed.
Your legs are not used to the high-impact forces that you apply in running. You should build up the strength in your legs with low-impact exercise first: a treadmill is great for walking, because you can warm up at low speed, then vary the walk with faster speeds and slopes.
Ask at your gym for advice on a plan for safe and effective exercise. You can also contact a local running club. You can find information about these clubs at sports’ shoe stores. Part of the solution may even involve new shoes with better support.
Could be Shin Splints.
Probably shin splints. Give it a few days rest and then do the following…….
Do good stretching prior to running. Check your shoes for proper padding and if not good enough add a heel cup with pad or get new shoes. Check your arches and make sure they also are not fallen or have inadequate support in the shoe. Also check your running stance and make sure you are doing a good “heel to toe” movement with your foot while running.
After running apply ice to the hurting area and give it rest. Shin splint hurt a lot but can be treated easily if you are prudent.
