I know its the lactic acid build up but it only takes about 5minutes of running before they start hurting. I used to run on the treadmill 4-5times a week and I was able to go on at least an hour before they would hurt. I haven’t worked out in about 2months. Why do they hurt so much so early in my run now?

i dont know everything about uman anatomy or the affects on your body, but it might be the strain or the fact that you stopped for a peropd of time

when you start up running again after you have taken a break, it is really important to get a good warm up stretch. i used to be able to run without stretching much but i took a month off and now i have to spend a good 3-5 min on the mats before i take off. also, it might help you if you walk for a couple of minutes before you start running.
