I’m not fat, I’m 16, exactly just abit taller than average height and im 63 kilos. I’m wondering if running on the treadmill for 45 minutes a day makes you lose weight? Also, what muscles do you gain (leg muscles, abes etc..)??

Yes, of course, you’ll lose weight, but that all depends on what you’re eating, too. If you’re running for 45 minutes and gorging yourself on Big Macs, you may even gain weight. If you’re sticking to nutritious foods and drinking lots of water along with working out, you’ll be ready for your Speedo by summer.
Running engages all muscle groups, but you may notice your thighs and calves to shape up first.

it will make you lose the tire around your waist, build your legs into solid muscle, build your endurance to last longer in sports or work, the treadmill builds below the waist, try running back wards, sideways and super fast sprints

Losing weight isn’t just about exercising. It’s about eating less calories than your body burns. Yes, exercise is important, but not if you ‘reward’ yourself by eating a box of doughnuts!

And if you are going to cut down on your eating, you must do it intelligently. If you cut down too much, your body goes into famine mode, where it slows your metabolism because it thinks that it has to conserve while you are in some kind of nutrition hardship. Also, you need to cut down on the right foods, such as processed sugars, bad fats, etc.

I would recommend talking to someone like a doctor or nutritionist, who can design a smart and effective plan for you, that includes reasonable exercise and a good diet.

    Good luck with your goals!
